BLURB :
After watching a young boy die, college freshman Atancia Clark begins to have panic attacks. Her heart flutters, her breath catches and she can’t control her emotions the way she always has. She wants to be strong, but lately she just hasn’t been living up to her own expectations. When she meets Ben Althaus, her breath starts catching for entirely different reasons. He helps Atancia discover the cause for her odd emotional reactions and the history she thought was lost when her mother left her. Atancia has power beyond that of an average girl, and Ben is by no means ordinary. He wants to help her hone her talents, but her focus is threatened by life-altering events. Add Ben’s entrancing brother, Matthew, to the mix, and Atancia’s lack of clarity could lead her down a destructive path.
REVIEW :
I fell in love with this story it was very nicely written with love and intrigue wrapped throughout. I was most impressed by the fact that I was not sure where the story line was going to go. The base story line was unique in its premise and has a lot of growth potential. I have to admit that I had a preconceived notion about where this story line was going and was happy that I was surprised time and time again. Early in the book I was tempted to skip pages to get through the book expecting the same boy vampire meets girl vampire and fall in love. That is not this book and I am very glad that I did not skip pages The one drawn back I had with this story is that I had a hard time identifying with the main female character Atancia. I found her to be a bit to naïve and trusting for a girl her age raised in modern Miami. This however helped build the story line and I am hoping that she is portrayed in the next novel as a bit more intelligent with more common sense. Now that being said she was still an amazing character that brought dimension to the story. This book is well thought out, and well written – I am only hoping that the sequel comes out soon as I am already biting my nails wanting more more more !!!!
And I would rate it with it's well Golden 4 Stars .
ABOUT THE AUTHOR :
As a child, I was often kept up at night by an overactive imagination. When I got to college, I decided to study writing so I could put that imagination to better use. I am an avid reader and rarely let a week go by without finishing at least two books. I love the way that books allow passage into other people's thoughts and let me see how they view the world. Though I have been writing stories as long as I can remember, Atancia is my first novel.
